Tour Overview
Join Explore Flower Tours for a tour of the Chelsea Flower Show and the beautiful English countryside in Oxfordshire, England.
We will visit the Royal Horticultural Society’s world-famous Chelsea Flower Show on the exclusive member preview day where we will see the very best in English landscape design and horticulture. RHS has partnered with the award winning and highly acclaimed chef Jose Pizarro to provide visitors a special lunch inside the flower show. We will get to delight in this curated tapas menu.
While in London we will take a flower workshop with innovative floral designer Graeme Corbett of Bloom & Burn at the New Covent Garden flower market. He will give us an insider’s look at buying flowers from this impressive and historical space.
We will be treated to a private before-hours tour of Hampton Court Palace where we will learn about life during the Tudor period and one of its most famous residents – Henry VIII. We will also see Hampton Court’s famous rose garden and sprawling gardens.
Buckingham Palace is on our itinerary with a visit to the King’s Gallery to see the special exhibition ‘Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style’, which marks the centenary of her birth and celebrates her remarkable life through fashion. We will also visit the Royal Mews, which houses the magnificent royal carriages and stables.
During the Oxfordshire portion of our tour our homebase will be in the historic university town of Oxford. We will take in its history during a walking tour and a visit to the New College of Oxford University. We will visit the Ashmolean Museum’s special exhibition ‘In Bloom: How Plants Changed our World’, where we will learn about the fascinating history of plants, exploration and our obsession with them.
We will take multiple floral design workshops – one with a floral farmer Green and Gorgeous and one with the incomparable Paula Pryke OBE.
We will take a private evening tour of Windsor Castle, going into parts of the castle normally closed to the public, and we will have a chance to stroll the gardens.
And a trip to England isn’t complete without an Afternoon Tea, which we will enjoy as our final farewell meal together when we will toast our new and returning flower friends!
